10 on 10…Ten photos taken throughout one day or event, documenting that day or event, and posted on the tenth of the month as an exercise in lifestyle photography.
Okay, so technically it’s the 11th of November and we’re one day late posting our 10 on 10. But since photographers usually work on weekends and it’s nice to have a break on Sundays, we bumped it up a day.
This month I decided to post all black and white images. I love color but I also love how black and white photos seem to tell the story better. You’re not distracted by the color and really focus on the details. This is also the first month in awhile that I photographed one entire, very normal day. The past few 10 on 10 projects have been on birthday parties and beach trips so it was nice to finally capture the sometimes boring “every day,” lifestyle photography images. But these are the memories easily tossed to the side that I really do want to remember. I’d been in Seattle for the week photographing my niece so this Saturday was spent back home in Asheville catching up on laundry, playing with the boys and giving the hubby a break from his week of Mr. Mom duties. Here goes…
Patrick the poodle in his favorite spot watching the squirrels (and our very empty den as we decide on furniture for the new house)
And the other side of the room…laundry day! Instead of helping fold, my oldest finds a spot to play on the computer. Typical.
And now for a few yo-yo tricks with the yo-yo I bought the boys in Seattle
Downtown for a late lunch
Green chili nachos at LAB (Lexington Avenue Brewery)
Back home to drop off Dad and pick up Patrick for the park
Crossing the bridge at Carrier Park
My youngest is a pro at the monkey bars
Patrick is ready for his turn to play so we head out
And finally…a new friend at the French Broad River Dog Park!
