10 on 10…Ten photos taken throughout one day or event documenting that day or event as an exercise in lifestyle photography

Instead of focusing on an entire day of photos for the monthly 10 on 10 post, I decided to share our little adventure crab fishing over spring break. It was just icky enough and super creepy crawly to excite both my dirty, busy boys.

So how do you catch a crab? First you need a net, a package of raw chicken, and a marshy area. (Quick note here…please remember to remove leftover raw chicken from the back of the car once you’ve caught the crabs. Not very pleasant after 3 days. I speak from experience.)

We headed to a park south of Myrtle Beach in Garden City, SC to set our traps. The nets were loaded with raw chicken, lowered over the side of the deck into the cold water, and tied to a post. Then the boys headed to play and give the crabs a chance to crawl in. After about 20 minutes of playtime, they raced back to the end of the bridge, pulled up the nets and… three crabs and many, MANY snails were captured! The boys were excited! And being the peaceful fishermen that we are, we took a few photos and slipped the slimy little creatures back in the water. Not a bad day!
