Photographing large families usually means a busy, “lots of activity,” “a few tears shed,” crazy day. Taking on a session with one set of grandparents, four grown siblings, and the spouses and children of those four siblings always means a crazy photographer. (Many photographers won’t even accept the extended family session.)
Well…call me crazy because that’s just what I did with the group below.
But this was a fun group, with super sweet parents, and some adorable, “full of energy” kiddos. We had a beautiful new, baby boy; three adorable sisters (one with my baby name if I ever had a girl, which I didn’t); a teenager who was more than kind to the young ones constantly climbing on him; and two boys who reminded me of my own and didn’t scare me one bit when they came at each other with large sticks in hand intent on inflicting the other with any form of pain possible. Love me some boys in a session!
Yes, I was a little flustered when I left – my hair was a mess and my boots were muddy – but it made for a nice workout and produced some sweet photos.
First…the parents and four siblings…
The entire crew…
And the families…
Brotherly love… sort of
Now for the fun…
And a little fish-eye lens silliness…a fun way to end
